Another generic IWAY whining topic (not really)
So I decided to log on to GW and guru for the first time in over a year (im not joking, my last guru login date was april 5, 2008).
Looks like nothing has changed. People are still bashing on the newest IWAY build (which I tried playing today and it sucks. We held halls a few times but it still sucks).
But anyways here are my thoughts: HA was never meant to be 100% balanced and it never will be. If you want to play a game that is 100% balanced, go play Starcraft, because as far as I know, that is the only game that is perfectly balanced. HA was fun (emphasis on the past tense there) and that should have been good enough for most people (I mean everyone kept coming back playing for hours and hours, right?). But people complained, ANet made the necessary changes to remove IWAY (I'm sorry but this new "IWAY" crap build sucks and isn't even half as effective as the old one. If you lose to it, its because you aren't good at the game. The real deal IWAY has been dead for a while), and look what happened? Like 90% of the HA player base quit (including the "1337 balance players")
I'm not sure why I'm posting this here since I'm probably missing all of my target audience, because all those people who use to complain about how IWAY ruined the game are long gone, because actually the opposite appears to be true. The changes made to make IWAY (again, the new **** doesn't count) obsolete seems to be what made HA suck.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is stop ****ing complaining. The more ANet attempts to make HA 100% balanced, the more HA will suck. People complained about IWAY (again if you haven't picked up on it, I'm talking about the real deal IWAY, not the e/rt healer crap) so ANet made the game a lot more balanced and now it sucks. The same thing will happen if you guys keep whining. (assuming ANet still cares) And then int id1 will be have like 2 or 3 afkers at "prime time".
And as a preemptive to response to what I know is coming ("Stop complaining that u can't run ur gimmick trash anymore"), I'm not. I don't really have any interest in HA anymore, despite the fact that I'm incredibly close to R12. I just logged on to see whats going on, played a few runs, and am now sharing my thoughts. I can't see myself ever seriously playing HA again.
P.S - Why does it say I have 65k notifications in the top right corner? Apparently its because of 65k unread PMs, but when I checked, I haven't recieved any PMs since 2007 (and I read most of those)

Since you're not exactly new to Guild Wars Guru, I'm surprised that you posted this in the manner you did. You should know by now, even with a year off, that there are distinct factions within Guru.
First are the newer players that come here looking for help or advice.
Second are the veteran players that are here mostly to chat and help the newer players.
Third are the retired players who come to chat about what's still going on.
Fourth are the retired players who want to tell everyone how the game is dead and to move on.
Lastly are the rest of the crowd, who come here only to troll, whine, and be obnoxious, and consist mostly of PvE farmers.
People complain about the state of Heroes' Ascent for several reasons. Most HAers nowadays are newer PvPers that are trying to break in. They're trying to find reasons why they keep getting rolled by more experienced (or not) teams no matter what they run. Most players blame their failures on Heroes, such as the famous "Teaseway" build that has been popular lately. Others blame gimmick builds, such as the current IWAY, and say that the format should cater to "balanced" teams. In any case, many of these players (and veteran players) complain because they feel HA should be perfectly balanced, even though it is simply not possible, between the varied format and the limited staff working on Guild Wars.
In case I've not been clear, I agree that people need to stop whining about the FOTM builds and the state of HA in general.
As for your notifications, those are likely thread subscriptions. Go to your User CP to deal with those.

I agree 100%. please people stop with the QQ. Ha is fun and a great way to do 8v8 battles without guild battles and have a rank for it.
